Hair PRP (for Hair Loss)

Preventative therapy for early signs of hair loss

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy for Hair Loss

PRP Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that allows you to take control of your own natural hair growth. It is a low-risk, highly effective treatment for both men and women for correcting established hair loss; or as a preventative treatment combating the very first signs of hair loss.

How it Works

The procedure includes a three-step process in which a person’s blood is drawn, centrifuged, and the platelets are then injected into the scalp. Platelets contain multiple growth factors that can also stimulate hair growth. The injection of growth factors into the scalp will stimulate the hair follicle to begin growing, making your own natural hair grow back thicker and fuller.

Why PRP?

Because the plasma is part of your own blood, the risk of adverse reactions found in other treatments and medications is eliminated. Beyond that, the concentrated white blood cells and healing properties of the plasma keep your infection risk to a minimum. For best results, the treatment is performed as a series of four about 6 weeks apart and then single treatments are repeated every 6-12 months.

5 Benefits of PRP

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It stimulates collagen and elastin production which thickens and tightens your skin, effectively smoothing wrinkles and fine lines. Because it boosts collagen, it’s also a great treatment for improving overall skin texture and tone. It’s particularly good for people who suffer from rosacea or acne.

PRP is extremely effective for treating difficult-to-treat areas, such as the delicate under-eye area where patients often notice signs of aging first.
PRP uses your own natural protein growth factors without the addition of any foreign products. The treatment works by drawing a small sample of your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other blood particles. The platelet-rich plasma is then re-injected or applied topically to the treatment area to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Because it uses your own natural elements, PRP is very safe. It is also not a new treatment and is commonly used for sports medicine and wound healing indications.
Results from PRP take between three to four weeks to appear but are long-lasting, typically lasting 12 to 18 months after an initial series of treatments.
